late summer

It seems weird that it's August already and we're looking ahead towards Scott's third year at Penn State and the fall routine starting again soon. Scott is working a lot on writing and I have been doing things at home, like washing the dishes and playing with Wren! I am still really glad I am able to be home with Wren and don't have to work right now. I'm never bored, but sometimes I feel restless being at home a lot!

Wren continues to talk so much, putting three and more words together and coming up with his own ways of saying things. He's starting to be able to tell us colors, shapes and sizes correctly without any prompting! It is pretty neat. He usually notices the color yellow ("hello") and when he asks what color something is, he holds it up and says, "hello?" meaning, "what color is this?" But sometimes he calls other things the right colors on his own. He's starting to use the phrase "lots of" correctly -- today I was cooking some corn and freezing it and he said "lots of corn!" "hello corn!" and "little corn!" for a small cob. It's just really neat to see him come up with these statements. He is very observant and notices any new thing that is moved from one place to another.

I posted a new video of Wren blowing some bubbles and laughing a lot. It's to the right on the "recently added" videos area. Also there are new pictures of our latest fun escapades. This summer has been kind of cool and rainy so we've been doing some different projects at home and in the kitchen. Looking forward to my dad visiting this week and taking a little day trip to Strasburg, Pennsylvania to ride a train and check out the train museum!
