Wren also has made noises like "hi" and "kitty" but those words aren't very clear. His word "light" is his most clear first word, we would say. He also knows how to say "cat"!
Wren took his first steps at the Harris Branch Library! Yay! We just took a trip last week -- Scott went the International Congress of Medieval Studies conference in Kalamazoo and presented a paper and Wren and I stayed in South Bend and visited lots of friends. On Thursday, May 8 we were having fun with our friends at Harris and Wren took his first two steps while playing with Daddy! Then I came over and got to see him take one more step. He looked very excited (both Wren and Daddy)! He hasn't taken any more yet, but he's looked like he was going to a few times.
Wren received an awesome birthday card from the Wolfe family that plays the Superman theme when you open it and he loves it! He tries to sing along with the theme! It's very cute. We've noticed him kind of singing along with some songs on his other favorite toys, too.
We all had a great trip last week. It was wonderful to see our friends! Thanks for having us, everyone! And it felt a little like we were "home" again, being in the 'Bend, so it was funny to drive back "home" to PA.
Since we've been back, we've been working on transitioning Wren to just eating table foods, rather than baby food. Last night we went to Perkins and Wren ate a whole grilled cheese sandwich, a serving of mashed potatoes, plus a little bit of broccoli, asparagus and tomatoes. He loves to eat!

Thanks for the update. I'm so glad to hear that you guys are all doing so well! I'm a bit jealous of the talking-- we've still got just babbling. Go Wren! You're going to be racing to catch up with him soon!
