We are settling into
our new house now -- tons of things to do and seemingly not that much time to do it in. We are enjoying the spring flowers blooming in our neighborhood and all the leaves coming out on the trees (finally!). Wren just turned ONE YEAR OLD on Saturday, April 19! It is very exciting and hard to believe it's already been a year since he was born. Both grandmas came to visit for the occasion (and the occasion of somebody's 30th birthday!) and got to witness Wren walking with his push toy for the first time and also use a straw for the first several times. Wren had a cold this week so we postponed his birthday party, but we still sang to him and gave him his own cake on the day of his birthday. He really loved the cake and ate a lot of it -- it was serious business, getting all those handfuls of cake and icing into his mouth!

Today Wren and I voted in the Pennsylvania primary. It was an exciting occasion!

Also today there was a parade of elephants and horses that went through town. The circus is in town and the elephants had to be unloaded a few miles from the venue. Wren and I tried to see them earlier in the day, but it turned out they were running a few hours late, so I went back later after Wren was asleep. Lots of folks were out -- it was like the Fourth of July!
