We have been busy here. Scott has been working hard prepping for his classes and attending new faculty events and I have been taking care of Wren and finishing setting up our apt. Things are looking great. We also have had some visitors!

My dad drove 12.5 hours here and stayed with us all last week, and Scott's mom and aunt came for a couple of days at the end of their New England tour. They took some great photos and saw some neat sights in many New England states. They all had fun visiting the Penn State campus and playing with Wren.

Wren is getting big -- 19 pounds! He's five months old now. We just started feeding him rice cereal a few days ago. He seems to like it; I don't think it's all dribbling down his chin. :) He is getting very good at using his hands to grab things and get them to his mouth. He is rolling all around in his crib at night, and when he plays on his tummy on the floor, he looks like he really wants to crawl. He can prop himself up pretty high in the front, and can get his bottom way up in the air, but not both at once. He makes a lot of motions with his arms and legs like he wants to move. Wren is starting to make "buh" sounds a little bit, crossed with raspberries. Mostly when he talks, he is talking louder and making long sounds. Yesterday I took him to a pilates class at the YMCA and he seemed to enjoy the way his voice echoed in that big room!
So we have been continuing to have fun with Wren. I'm keeping busy and meeting people; mostly moms. We haven't done much with people through Penn State, but we hope to soon. It's lonely sometimes here, but we are busy and know it takes a while to get to know people and make friends. I've been talking with some of you about this -- thanks for sharing what it's been like in your situations. We miss all of you a lot!
I haven't posted a lot of photos lately because I lost my camera cord to transfer the photos to the computer, and I have a new camera coming in the mail , hopefully soon! I am very impatient. Unfortunately the camera was sent to our old address first, so now I'm waiting for it to get here. It's hard to remember all these address changes!
Please write or call and let us know what's up with you! Don't worry about waking up Wren; he can't hear the phone when he's asleep in his crib.
Talk with you soon,
Emily
