happy 10 months!

It's hard for us to believe that Wren is 10 months old already, but he is. He is loving to close doors, play with tubes and bottles (like his tube of diaper rash cream), crawl around, and pull up on things. He's started to reach higher -- his eyes travel all around now when he's standing; he's looking for other places to explore. We'll see if he's a climber! He crawled up about five steps yesterday. Wren can just stretch and get his fingers on the top of the sink in his bathroom and then he does a super power grunt like he's going to pull himself up there by his fingertips! He still likes to crawl in to the bathroom naked and watch his bath fill. Wren's favorite bath toys are cups. He takes mighty drinks from his sippy cups, throwing his head back and slurping the water down. We watch the garbage truck empty the dumpster twice a week, and catch the recycling truck when we can. Wren does not like to have his face wiped off, and he likes to be distracted while you change his diaper. He loves playing with toys in his crib and especially enjoys the music from his busybox. I have the music playing in my head all day! He goes after Lacey with much gusto, and Lacey is getting very worried and now hisses at Wren when he gets close (but she doesn't run away). Wren had his first "jello" (did you know you can make "jello" just by adding gelatin to juice?) and was intrigued by it. He has taken just a few steps along things, starting to "cruise" a bit, especially if you put something he's interested in just a foot or so away from where he's standing. We love it when he'll hold still long enough to read a book or to cuddle, but it doesn't happen often! Wren has been carrying things while he crawls around, like a piece of paper, a bookmark, a diaper, a sock... He likes Mommy to crawl after him and "get him" -- he crawls a little way then stops and waits! And he'll crawl after Mommy to "get her", too. Right this moment he is sleeping like a precious angel in his crib. We love you, Wren!
